What I Got For A Vegan Christmas: Eco-Friendly & Self-Development Gifts

What I got for a vegan Christmas – a first time for a post like this and an exciting one sharing what I received from Santa himself. This Christmas I was spoilt rotten with some incredible vegan, eco-friendly & self-development gifts. From cruelty-free bath products and make up tools to self-development books and a 2018 planner, I have been gifted products that will make 2018 a better one. Here I share with you what I got for Christmas and where you can get your hands on these gifts too!

A Vegan Christmas: Treacle Moon

The indulgent and sweet scents from Treacle Moon never fail to keep me smiling and smelling great throughout the year. The body butters are deeply moisturising, body scrubs exfoliating and shower gel divine. This Christmas I received three of the Coconut Island products, a Plum Custard bath gel and Shea body lotion which is the most delicious scent on earth! The short stories that compliment each bottle make the product unique and fun – a must have in every bathroom.

A Vegan Christmas:The Body Shop

My sister treated me to a few products from The Body Shop that were labelled as vegan and cruelty free. If you love Vanilla, you will love the Vanilla Body Mist. Due to it’s Light, sweet and warm scent it is neither overpowering nor too feminine. The glass bottle compliments the product and will make you feel and smell irresistible.

As I have been trying to construct a moisturising and cleaning routine for my skin, the Aloe Soothing Rescue Cream Mask will come in perfectly. The mask nourishes and soothes the dry patches and has left my skin feeling softer and hydrated. It is best to apply before going to sleep as you will feel great when waking up with silky soft skin. For the winter weather and cold nights, a Mango Hand Cream was a perfect pick. It smells edible, is neither sticky nor too thick leaving your skin feeling soft and hydrated. Also available in a body lotion, this would be a perfect summer time moisturiser.

A Vegan Christmas: ECO TOOLS Brushes

Prepped For Change Brush Set

My sister is my go to for all things make up related – she knows her stuff. She treated me to this beautiful Ecotools Prepped For Change Brush set to provide me with some Eco-friendly and cruelty-free brushes. Within the set there is a facial scrubber, prep and prime brush, skin perfecting brush, detail concealer brush, correcting concealer brush and Setting Kabuki. Twinned with a highlighter, contour and shimmer eye shadow palette, il be ready to hit the town. Most noteworthy element of the set is it’s support  of The Girl Project which provides access to education for girls around the world, raises awareness and empowers women.

A Vegan Christmas: Dr. Organic

Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Day and Night Cream

The Queen of Holland & Barrett’s beauty section has to be the Dr. Organic range. I was gifted a Day & Night cream set in the scent of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. This Bioactive Skincare range combines coconut oil’s hydrating properties with organic essential oils to deeply moisturise the skin. It is lightweight, non-greasy and has a subtle smell that is not too tropical nor overpowering! The night cream is heavier than the day but you will wake up with deeply moisturised skin whether facially or elsewhere on the body.

A Vegan Christmas: Lush Gift Sets

If beauty products weren’t enough, I was gifted two sets from Lush too! The first festive gift set was the Best Wishes which featured three Vegan friendly Christmas products. The first was the Saucy Snowcake Soap which smells of roses, marzipan and vanilla ice cream all in one rich yet soothing bar. Furthermore the second product was the Christmas Sweater Bath Bomb which is made up of cloves and coriander, a rather different combination which thankfully smells more like warm cinnamon and nutmeg! The final is the Snowman Bubbleroon, a cocoa butter bubble bar that has a hint of cola in the scent.

The second box was the vibrant and beautifully packaged Hello Gorgeous box which contained 5 products, 4 of which were certified vegan (not photographed was the Gorgeous trial size moisturiser which was not vegan-friendly). The first of the four was the Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub which exfoliates and hydrates, the second a Love & Light Hand Cream scented with Brazilian Orange Oil and third the Sex Bomb Bath Bomb fragranced with Ylang Ylang and Jasmine. The final product was the Comforter Bubble Bar – a bergamot and blackcurrant fragranced bar which can broken off in pieces to use on multiple occasions! I have no excuse to not smell incredible 100% of the time now!

The Raw Chocolate Pie Company

On a trip to Cornwall in December, my parents visited The Raw Chocolate Company store in St Ives. They bought me some Raw Chocolate Slices in a range of flavours as well as the Raw Fudge Pie variety. Moreover they purchased two hemp salad dressings which look delicious! I cannot wait to share with you my thoughts on these dairy, gluten and refined sugar free treats!

A Vegan Christmas: The Happiness Planner

If being organised wasn’t enough already, I wanted to take it to the next step and plan my year. The 2018 Happiness Planner held the answer to manifesting my future and I cannot wait to use it! This really is a stand out gift with the geometric design, planner printables and rose gold pen – . I am looking forward to dedicating time each day to reflect, plan and cultivate happiness through personal growth and gratitude.

Sarah Knight ‘The Life Changing Magic Of Not Giving A F*ck’

The two books I have been dying to get my hands on all year were from the incredible Sarah Knight. I read a few chapters of ‘Get Your Sh*t Together’ whilst on holiday in Dubai as an early Christmas gift and loved her frank approach to self-development. Now I have my hands on her first book ‘The Life-Changing Magic Of Not Giving A F**k’ I am planning on reading this to ensure I spend more time and energy on things that truly matter and with the people that I love.

A Vegan Christmas: MIU Water Bottle

I have now made the upgrade from my plastic Bobble Bottle to a more eco-friendly MIU Glass Water Bottle. Due to it’s Borosilicate glass, the bottle can withhold both boiling hot and ice cold water. The design is further complimented by a stainless steel cap and silicone sleeve. It is BPA, PVC, Plastic and Lead Free as well as lightweight and healthy for me and the planet too. I look forward to drinking from this on a daily basis!

Have you tried and tested any of these products?

I would love to hear what you got for Christmas 2017 in the comments below!

A flask sounds perfect! The lush boxes are always such a fantastic gift – I cannot believe I used to hate Lush so much! Since going Vegan my senses have clearly awakened. Do you have a particular favourite product you wish to try? What was the Vegan chocolate brand?

I got a flask to keep me warm when I’m doing activism in the cold months from my Husband, a Lush box from my friend, a gorgeous bright pink faux suede bag from my in-laws and various vegan chocolate from people including a brand I’d never heard of before!
