Here are 5 vegan documentaries that everyone should watch. Without watching Vegucated and Earthlings, I would not have made the incredible life changing decision to switch to a plant-based diet. You have the power to educate yourself, educate others and choose what you put into your body. Read on to find out what documentaries you need to watch to make that positive lifestyle change.
Vegucated was the first vegan documentary I was curious to watch. It follows three meat loving New York citizens who choose to follow a vegan diet for 6 weeks. They come to realise that there is more to veganism than changing their diet and uncover the disturbing sides of animal agriculture that they didn’t acknowledge existed.
Coswpiracy is an environmental documentary that highlights the affects of animal agriculture on the planet. Mass animal farming is the leading cause of pollution, greenhouse gases, deforestation, and global warming. Cowspiracy will open your eyes to the devastation that the environment now faces.

What The Health
‘One serving of processed meat per day increased the risk of developing diabetes by 51%’
What The Health is a follow up film from the incredibly successful Cowspiracy. The documentary highlights the corruption within America’s leading health organisations and the effects processed meats and dairy have on the body. Combining shocking statistics and interviews with leading physicians and doctors, this documentary will have you on the edge of your seat.
‘The largest, strongest terrestrial animals on the planet are all herbivores’
Forks Over Knives
Forks Over Knives is an eye-opening film that highlights how choosing a plant-based diet over that of animal products and processed foods can reverse degenerative diseases. It makes us question our own lifestyle choices, take inspiration from Chinese diets and encourage us to ‘let food be thy medicine’.
Earthlings is the most powerful documentary of all and will have the most impact on your life. This documentary shows how humans use and abuse animals on a daily basis, a practice that has become a norm within society. It focuses on the food industry, animals being used for clothing, as sources of entertainment and for scientific experiments. it showcases disturbing footage from inside slaughterhouses, highlights animal cruelty at it’s worst and how these creatures are exploited. This documentary is the most difficult to watch however is fundamental to making that change.
I urge you to watch these documentaries and give Veganism a chance.
